I posted my personal reading list for Katrina at Callapidder Days’ Fall Into Reading challenge earlier this week. My 7-year-old daughter, Isabelle, and I decided to compile a list for her as well. Here’s what she’ll be reading for the challenge this fall; the books will also count toward her BOOK IT! reading goals.
  • The Blue Hill Meadows (Cynthia Rylant)
  • The Eagle (Cynthia Rylant)
  • Thimbleberry Stories (Cynthia Rylant)
  • Meet Kirsten (Janet Beeler Shaw)
  • Clementine (Sarah Pennypacker)
  • The Boxcar Children (Gertrude Chandler Warner)

I adore Cynthia Rylant’s children’s books, and Isabelle has enjoyed moving on to her chapter books after reading many of Rylant’s easy readers like Henry & Mudge, Poppleton, and the High-Rise Private Eyes. I plan to have her write a short review of each book she reads, and I’ll post them here as she completes them.
