summer and stuff
We’ve had a pretty laid-back summer so far and are enjoying the library’s reading program, VBS, swimming lessons, visiting relatives, and just playing with the neighbors. I haven’t thought much about education or homeschooling this summer; it pretty much just happens as we go about our day.
I’ve still been keeping up with a few of the homeschooling blogs, though. There’s an interesting discussion that Dana began after reading Brian’s post, Homeschooling is Not the Gospel, and that Spunky and Marcy have continued. All these posts, links to other blogs, and comment threads raise good points and issues that concern me about several trends toward exclusivity in some Christian homeschooling circles, including my state’s Christian homeschooling organization.
